Everyone deserves the opportunity to share their perspective with others.
You have the freedom to speak your mind and express your opinions. Free speech is a constitutional right, one that's been protected for more than two centuries. But some publicly funded colleges and universities are limiting students to less-than-free speech on their campuses. So-called "free speech zones" have been established to rein in free expression. This is unconstitutional.
Several states have passed laws doing away with the ridiculous notion that lawful free speech should be limited to certain spaces at certain times; it's time Florida joined in.
The Campus Free Expression Act would ensure public colleges allow true free speech on campus, not just limited speech in small designated areas. Tell Senator Dorothy Hukill you support free speech on Florida's publicly funded college campuses, and she should too.
